Like many parents, we welcomed our first child during the COVID pandemic and they didn’t meet other children until nearly their first birthday. My wife and I were new to parenting and learning to navigate a suddenly virtual world—rewarding, but often challenging—and we sometimes relied on TV and smartphone games more than we wanted. We both grew up very active, collecting different things from playing cards to matchbox cars, and loving to read superhero stories, so we wanted something similar for our kids: a way to spark imagination while teaching kindness, courage, and curiosity. That’s how Lumen League began — to guide young minds through storytelling, hands-on activities, and heroic role models, helping children build the soft skills they need to thrive in a highly digital world.
